Module Syllabus Overview
This module introduces law students to legal research, sources of law, research methods, and also how to summarise a case in a prescribed manner.
This module has a portfolio exam as well as two assignments. The first assignment normally deals with research methods and a legal topic while the second assignment requires you to summarise a case. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the portfolio exam carries 80% of the marks.
This module is at the NQF 5 level and is worth 12 credits.
