Module Syllabus Overview
This module covers all the aspects related to evidence and how it is brought to court. You will learn about the different types of evidence, where evidentail law comes from, how evidence is presented in court, the procedure regarding witnesses, the difference between documentary and real evidence, the admissibility of evidence and how it can also be challenged. Also included in the module is how to deal with hearsay and opinion evidence and the admissibility of confessions.
This module has a multiple choice (MCQ) exam as well as two assessments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.
This module is at the NQF 7 level and is worth 12 credits.
