Module Syllabus Overview
This module covers all aspects related to insolvency, for both individuals as well as companies and close corporations. You will learn about the process leading up to provisional sequestration as well as what happens once a final sequestration order has been granted. You will learn about the effects of sequestration, how assets from the estate are collected, how those assets are realized and then distributed to creditors. The module also delves into sequestration for partnerships and insolvent deceased estates.
This module has a written exam as well as two assessments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.
This module is at the NQF 7 level and is worth 12 credits.
