Module Syllabus Overview

This module introduces the concept of African philosphy, trends in African philosophy, and some prominent African philosophers.

This module has a written exam as well as two assignments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.

This module is at the NQF 5 level and is worth 12 credits.


At the end of this module you will understand the basics of:

  • Trends in African philosophy
  • What is African philosophy
  • Morality in African thought
