Module Syllabus Overview

This module covers the aspects related to property law. You will learn about how ownership os acquired, how ownership is terminated, how movables and immovables are treated with regards to ownership, remedies that are available, the difference between real rights, personal rights and limited rights. You will also learn how rights are secured and the process for securing rights over movable and immovable property. Be prepared to learn some Latin, as you will be exposed to a number of terms that must be known.

This module has a written exam as well as two assessments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.

This module is at the NQF 7 level and is worth 12 credits.
