Module Syllabus Overview
The module covers all aspects to do with contracting. You will learn about the essentialia of a contract, how contracts are formed, what constitutes a breach of contract, how rights can ceded, and how the obligations of a contract can be terminated. You will also learn about the ways a contract can be enforced as well as the available remedies. Lastly there is a discussian on the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and how it modifies certain common law contractual laws.
This module has a closed book written exam as well as two assessments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.
This module is at the NQF 7 level and is worth 12 credits.
