Module Syllabus Overview
This module covers the aspects related to the law of delict (damages). You will learn about the general principles of delict such as the requirement for an act and consequence, the legal convictions of the community (bono mores), grounds of justification, intention and negligence, as well as contributory fault.
Also covered in this module are causation, damage, delictual remedies, forms of delict as well as forms of liability without fault.
This module has a closed book exam as well as two assessments. The two assessments combined have a marking weight of 20% and the exam carries 80% of the marks.
This module is at the NQF 7 level and is worth 12 credits.
